Matriculants Encouraged To Make An Application For NSFAS Funding

Since the 2024 National Senior Certification (NSC) examinations kick-off, Higher{Education and Training Minister, Dr Nobuhle Pamela Nkabane, has reminded all matriculants to seize the opportunity to apply for funding with the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).

"The application window will close on 15 December 2024, and there are not many days left to submit applications. Suitable learners are urged to apply immediately to secure economical assistance for their post-school education," Nkabane said.

Nkabane extended well wishes to all matriculants, who sat for the National Senior Certificate Examinations, with learners writing languages, English and Afrikaans Paper three.

Nkabane claimed this pivotal moment marks the fruits of a long time of hard work and encourages the Class of 2024 to approach their exams with willpower and self esteem.

With Just more than 880 000 candidates, including 727 121 full-time and 155,215 part-time candidates from throughout South Africa sit for this 12 months's matric examinations, throughout South Africa, Basic Education here Minister, Siviwe Gwarube, has assured the public of the department's preparedness to administer the tests efficiently.

Nkabane highlighted a variety of opportunities available in the Post-School Education and Training (PSET) system, that's open to all matriculants seeking further more education and read more learning and skills development.

• Community Education and Training (CET) colleges: Providing skills development and general education for students who want to carry on learning.

• Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges: Focusing on practical skills and technical knowledge to equip students for employment and self-employment.
